SMARTY: Advancing Real-Time Traffic Monitoring and Threat Detection
SMARTY is exploring integrated probabilistic data structures for efficient network monitoring and real-time threat detection. The proposed solution combines an XOR filter for flow identification with a Count-Min Sketch (CMS) for traffic frequency estimation, enabling compact and efficient processing.
Designed for programmable data planes, the structure supports line-rate traffic monitoring while reducing memory and computational overhead.
The approach provides a scalable basis for detecting anomalous traffic and supporting decentralized feature extraction and threat detection in programmable network infrastructures.
