Advancing Confidential Serverless Computing in SMARTY
SMARTY is exploring function fusion for serverless confidential computing, combining serverless execution with trusted environments to protect applications and their data.
The work builds on the Wallet platform and introduces mechanisms to package application components as serverless functions, execute them as trusted components and manage their interactions efficiently.
Initial evaluations measured function invocation and execution latency, providing a basis for further optimisation and integration with SMARTY’s serverless computing solutions.
This work contributes to more secure and efficient serverless applications, supporting confidential computing in next-generation infrastructures.
